Pascal Struijk is poised to resume training at the beginning of Leeds United’s pre-season, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The defender was sidelined for the latter part of the previous season due to a groin injury, with his final Championship appearance dating back to December 26th against Preston.

According to the Evening Post, Struijk will join the pre-season activities during the first week of July, eager to make up for lost time.

Throughout last season, Leeds benefitted from a solid central defensive partnership between Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu. However, Struijk’s absence meant Ampadu occasionally had to fill in at central midfield, highlighting his versatility but also the team’s need for defensive depth.

Having Struijk back in contention will be a significant boost for Leeds heading into the upcoming season, especially amid uncertainty over Rodon’s potential return to Elland Road after Tottenham exercised an extension in his contract.

The news of Struijk’s imminent return for pre-season is a positive development for Leeds, allowing manager Farke ample time to address any ongoing roster considerations.
