BREAKING NEWS: Steelers to Sign Experienced…

Pittsburgh Steelers encouraged to sign experienced Pro Bowl wide receiver.

Pro Football Focus believes the Pittsburgh Steelers are the ideal landing spot for Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper in free agency. After being traded by the Cleveland Browns, Cooper didn’t make a significant impact during his time with the Bills, finishing with just 547 receiving yards this season.

Despite that, Cooper is a five-time Pro Bowler and remains one of the league’s top route runners—an asset the Steelers could use to bolster a receiving corps in need of talent.

The Steelers were reportedly seeking help at wide receiver during the trade deadline, with Cooper being one of the names linked to them. Pairing the steady-handed Cooper with George Pickens could provide a nice balance, calming the receiving room and forcing defenses to account for both players.

At 30 years old, Cooper’s route-running ability could complement Pickens well. While his production has dipped, he still remains effective in creating separation. However, the Steelers may prefer to target a younger receiver rather than bringing in an older veteran like Cooper.
