Pittsburgh Steelers making big change with highly-touted offensive tackle.

The Pittsburgh Steelers appear poised to make a change with offensive tackle Broderick Jones. Insider Ray Fittipaldo reports that, with the expected departure of four-year starting left tackle Dan Moore Jr., the team plans to move their 2023 first-round pick, Jones, to left tackle, his natural position.

“Moore has been the starting left tackle for four seasons, but the Steelers want to shift Broderick Jones to the left side and insert Troy Fautanu at right tackle. This makes Moore expendable,” Fittipaldo wrote.

While Jones has primarily played right tackle in the NFL, despite it not being his natural side, the initial plan was to move him to left tackle this season. However, an injury to Troy Fautanu, which ended his season, led to Jones remaining at right tackle throughout the year.

Now, the Steelers seem prepared to make the move to left tackle for Jones. This past season, he allowed the second-most sacks among NFL offensive tackles, behind only Dan Moore Jr. Whether Jones can take a significant step forward will play a key role in determining whether the Steelers can achieve the offensive line success they’ve been aiming for after investing heavily in the unit.
