The former L.A. Lakers center has signed a two-way contract with the Grizzlies.
After converting Jay Huff’s contract, the Memphis Grizzlies have allegedly signed a new big man to take over their open two-way position. On Wednesday, the Grizzlies announced in a press release that they have signed Colin Castleton to a two-way contract.
### CASTLETON’S CAREER BACKGROUND
Colin Castleton, 24, spent his rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers after going undrafted in the 2023 Draft. He had limited playing time, participating in just 16 games. However, he excelled in the G League, averaging 16.4 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks in 28.8 minutes over 24 games with the South Bay Lakers, shooting 57.4 percent from the field. Castleton re-signed with the Lakers on a two-way deal last July and played for their Summer League team, but was later waived to create space for Quincy Olivari.
### INCOMING TALENT
With Castleton’s signing, the Grizzlies have filled their two-way roster for the season. The former Florida standout joins Yuki Kawamura and Cam Spencer in this role. Zach Kleiman has a reputation for successfully developing two-way players, as seen with Jay Huff and Scotty Pippen Jr. this season. It will be interesting to see how Castleton performs and grows in his new opportunities with the Grizzlies.
