LeBron James expressed that it will be a special experience to share the court in Cleveland with his son, Bronny.

Whenever LeBron James, an Akron native, returns to face the Cleveland Cavaliers, there’s always extra excitement surrounding the matchup. This season, the anticipation is heightened with his son, Bronny James, potentially playing alongside him as a Laker teammate.

As the Los Angeles Lakers embark on their first road trip of the season, LeBron was asked how he might feel about sharing the court with Bronny in Cleveland. After a loss to the Suns, he replied, “Nah, I don’t. But it’s definitely going to be very special to be back home and run on the floor with my son, who spent a lot of time on that floor while I played there for 11 years.”

Bronny’s participation in the game remains uncertain; he played only three minutes in the season opener and hasn’t appeared in any games since. Reports indicate he will begin a G League assignment after this road trip, which raises the possibility that their only shared moments might occur during warmups.

However, they did manage to have a moment in their first game together, and with Bronny’s G League assignment approaching, it seems likely they will have at least one more opportunity to play together before he heads to South Bay for an extended period.

Bronny appears to be managing the pressure well, staying focused on his development and the team as he adjusts to the NBA. Given that this is the Lakers’ only visit to Cleveland this year, it will be significant for them to play Bronny if this moment is important to both the team and LeBron.

When the moment does happen in Cleveland, it should be a memorable one. During their first game at Crypto.com Arena, the crowd erupted when they were both subbed in, creating a positive atmosphere for the Lakers’ season opener. If LeBron and Bronny take the court together again at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, the response from the crowd is likely to be just as enthusiastic.
