Former Lions WR Josh Reynolds shot twice, treated for ‘minor injuries’
Former Detroit Lions WR Josh Reynolds was reportedly shot twice last week, but he has since been treated for “minor injuries.”
Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds was shot twice in an incident outside a strip club in Denver, according to a report from 9NEWS. Reynolds, currently on injured reserve with the Denver Broncos, sustained gunshot wounds to his left arm and the back of his head, based on court documents. While the report did not provide an update on his current condition, the Broncos issued a statement on Thursday confirming that Reynolds was treated for minor injuries.
The team’s statement read: “Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries. Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment to the authorities.”
Reynolds was a key contributor to the Detroit Lions from 2021 to 2023, making 97 catches for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns in 38 games. Despite the Lions’ interest in re-signing him, negotiations failed, and he opted for a two-year contract with the Broncos. This season, Reynolds appeared in five games for Denver before being placed on injured reserve due to a finger injury that required surgery two weeks ago.
We will provide updates on Reynolds’ condition as more information becomes available.
