The Miami Dolphins continue to reject trade offers for their breakout player.

The Miami Dolphins have made it clear they have no intention of trading a player they see as a key part of their future. In fact, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier recently emphasized this by naming the player publicly and revealing that other teams have inquired about him, only to be turned down.

That player is second-year cornerback Ethan Bonner. Grier stated, “He’s a smart player, very competitive, and we’ve had multiple teams try to trade for him both in the offseason and even last year. We’re very excited about his opportunities, and he’s capitalized on them every time.”

It’s uncommon for a team’s management to openly discuss trade conversations like this, but it highlights the Dolphins’ confidence in Bonner. A feel-good story, Bonner went undrafted last year and spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad.

This summer, Bonner has impressed with a strong training camp, positioning himself as the third boundary cornerback and likely to see significant playing time if Jalen Ramsey or Kendall Fuller are unavailable.

In recent years, the Dolphins have made bold moves to address their cornerback needs, such as acquiring Ramsey and drafting Cam Smith in the second round. Discovering a talent like Bonner is a valuable bonus, and any trade offer would likely be insufficient for a player at such a crucial position.

Given that Bonner frequently faces off against elite players like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle in practice, his rise and the public endorsement from the Dolphins speak volumes about his current trajectory.
