Former OU softball star Jocelyn Alo has signed a one-month contract with the Savannah Bananas, as announced by the team on Friday.

Alo, who holds the NCAA career record for home runs, is set to make her debut Friday night in Mesa, Arizona.

The Savannah Bananas are an exhibition baseball team known for their unique style of play called “banana ball,” which combines elements of entertainment, including horseplay and dances, similar to the Harlem Globetrotters in basketball.

At 25 years old, Alo is considered one of the greatest players in college softball history, having played for OU from 2018 to 2022.

She secured national championships with the Sooners in 2021 and 2022, earning the title of USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year in both seasons.

Alo currently plays for the Oklahoma City Spark in the Women’s Professional Fastpitch softball league. She is also signed with Athletes Unlimited and will participate in the AU Pro Softball AUX in Wichita, Kansas.

The Aux games are scheduled from June 10-25 at Wilkins Stadium at Wichita State, while the Spark’s season kicks off on June 19.

Alo has stated that she will participate in both the Spark’s season and the Aux games.
