Tony Levin (of King Crimson and Peter Gabriel) Announces New Album Titled *Bringing It Down to the Bass

Including contributions from Robert Fripp, Mike Portnoy, Vinnie Colaiuta, and others.

Legendary bassist Tony Levin, renowned for his work with King Crimson and Peter Gabriel, has announced his new album, *Bringing It Down to the Bass*. The LP features collaborations with Robert Fripp (King Crimson), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Vinnie Colaiuta (Frank Zappa, Joni Mitchell), and others.

The album, set to be released by Flatiron Recordings on September 13th, coincides with the start of Levin’s highly anticipated “BEAT” tour, which will celebrate King Crimson’s music alongside Adrian Belew, Danny Carey, and Steve Vai. Levin shared that the album has been in the making for years, with some tracks being worked on for decades.

“It could have been finished a long time ago, honestly,” Levin stated in a press release, “but I’ve had a good problem—lots of touring, which I love. Playing live has kept me from spending much time at home to complete the album I’ve been working on for five or six years.”
