MSU’s Jans expects more from Matthews

Mississippi State head men’s basketball coach Chris Jans and veteran forward Cameron Matthews had a conversation before offseason workouts began this summer.

The message Jans had for Matthews was, “hey, this is a big offseason for you.”

There is no denying what Matthews has already meant to the Bulldogs the last few seasons. He has helped MSU to two-straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

Even though Matthews has experienced some success with the Bulldogs, he feels there is some unfinished business in Starkville.

“We’ve got more memories to make and more goals to achieve,” Matthews wrote in a social media post announcing his return to MSU on March 29.
