Cam Ward Calls Out Cowboys’ Defense as Titans Go All-In.

The Dallas Cowboys’ defense just took a major hit—verbally, at least. Washington State quarterback Cam Ward didn’t hold back, roasting Dallas for “leaving way too much space” on defense. As the NFL offseason heats up, this statement adds fuel to the fire, especially with teams like the Tennessee Titans making aggressive moves to improve their roster.

Ward’s Blunt Assessment of the Cowboys’ Defense

Ward’s comments come after a season where Dallas showed flashes of dominance but ultimately crumbled when it mattered most. Despite boasting star talent like Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs (before his injury), their late-season defensive struggles—culminating in a Wild Card collapse against the Green Bay Packers—exposed serious flaws.

“Man, they leave way too much space,” Ward said in a recent interview. “As a quarterback, when you see that, you know you can make plays.”

Ward, a dynamic dual-threat QB with NFL aspirations, knows what he’s talking about. At Washington State, he thrived against high-pressure defenses, and if he’s already pinpointing Dallas’ issues, it’s safe to assume opposing quarterbacks have been doing the same.

Titans Making Moves While Dallas Stalls

Meanwhile, the Tennessee Titans are taking the opposite approach. Instead of standing pat, they’re aggressively revamping their roster. New head coach Brian Callahan is expected to bring a fresh offensive approach, and with the team reportedly “all in” on surrounding young QB Will Levis with weapons, the Titans are shaping up to be a team to watch.

Tennessee has already been linked to big-name free agents and trade targets, including star wide receivers and offensive linemen. With a strong running game led by Derrick Henry (if he stays) and an improving defense, the Titans appear committed to taking the next step in the AFC South.

Dallas Needs to Respond

For the Cowboys, the challenge is clear: fix the holes in the defense or risk another disappointing season. With Defensive Coordinator Mike Zimmer returning to Dallas, the team has a chance to tighten up its coverage schemes and silence critics like Ward.

But if they don’t? Expect more young QBs—whether it’s Cam Ward or others—to pick them apart just like Jordan Love did in the playoffs.
