According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Aston Villa has turned down Sevilla’s £7 million offer for Lamare Bogarde.
During negotiations, the La Liga team made the bid for Bogarde, and the Midlands powerhouses were in talks with Sevilla for their center-back, Loic Bade.
Unai Emery has ruled out selling the Dutchman this season because he views him as a crucial component of his future plans, therefore Villa rejected the overtures for the 21-year-old.
The Midlands giants will move forward and make a second approach for Sevilla defender Bade during current window, according to a report published by Football Insider on Friday, January 24.
After selling Diego Carlos to Fenerbahce, Emery’s team is eager to add more center backs before the deadline of February 3.
However, Bogarde will not participate in talks because he is considered to be a part of Villa Park’s ambitions as he continues to grow.
He had two separate loan stints with League One Bristol Rovers before joining Villa from Feyenoord in September 2020.
Throughout his development, Bogarde has frequently played in both defensive and central midfield, in addition to center back.
In August 2024, he signed a new contract deal with Villa Park.
After their most recent away tie against Arsenal in the Premier League, Emery’s team is currently ranked eighth in the league.
In the upcoming week, the Midlands powerhouses will play Celtic (January 29) and West Ham (January 26).
In other news, Villa “could sign Victor Osimhen and sell Jhon Duran for £100 million.”
