BAD WEEKEND FOR STEELERS: Key Pittsburgh Steelers starter expected…

Key Pittsburgh Steelers starter expected to play against Bengals despite injury.

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Donte Jackson is expected to play against the Cincinnati Bengals despite dealing with a back injury. According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Jackson should be able to play despite a flare-up of the injury, though he will need to test it before the game.

Jackson has been battling a pinched nerve in his lower back, which has flared up multiple times over the past month. He missed the team’s game against the Baltimore Ravens after re-injuring it against the Philadelphia Eagles. The injury could flare up again if he moves the wrong way, potentially ending his day early.

“Yeah, it’s looking like day-to-day right now,” Jackson said. “Obviously, they don’t want me to push it, so I’m staying on my treatments and doing my best to be ready.”

Jackson reported feeling good during practice on Thursday. However, if he is unable to play, the Steelers will turn to Cory Trice as the starting cornerback. Jackson has been receiving ongoing treatment since the injury flared up.
