The Belgium international has only recently returned to full Manchester City match action following a frustrating opening few months to the new season through injury and prolonged recovery processes.
Having missed five months of the last campaign through recovery from hamstring surgery, there had been hope that the 2024/25 season would see De Bruyne back at his relentless best. However, an abdomen and groin issue left him out of starting line-ups for around nine weeks.
Starting Manchester City’s last Premier League outing against Nottingham Forest and recording an assist and a goal inside the first-half of the 3-0 win, De Bruyne remains a crucial component of Pep Guardiola’s operation.
Although, there is yet to be any further clarity around what the future hold for the 33-year-old, with his existing Manchester City contract running until the end of the ongoing season and no developments on a negotiation having yet arrived.
As such, according to the Daily Star’s Jeremy Cross, MLS’ Inter Miami have made Kevin De Bruyne their number one transfer target, and are ‘growing increasingly confident’ of being able to land the Belgium international next summer when he is due to become a free agent.
