Lorenzo Brown has been ruled out for the game against Virtus, while Kostas Sloukas will be a game-time decision.
Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens guard Lorenzo Brown has been ruled out of the upcoming EuroLeague game against Virtus Segafredo Bologna due to a fever. Following medical advice, Brown, who averages 8.3 points and 3.4 assists this season, remained in Athens rather than traveling with the team, according to SDNA.
Brown’s absence adds to Panathinaikos’s growing list of sidelined players, including Marius Grigonis and Kostas Antetokounmpo, further depleting the roster. Head coach Ergin Ataman also gave an update on Kostas Sloukas, who will be a game-time decision.
“After the last game, he didn’t practice. We will see him in training tonight. If he’s fit, he’ll play tomorrow. But it takes time,” Ataman said.
Discussing the team’s struggles with slow starts in away games, Ataman emphasized the importance of staying focused. “We need to start with more concentration because falling behind by 10-15 points on the road makes it hard to recover. We managed it against Red Star in Belgrade, but we need consistent intensity throughout the game,” he noted.
Ataman also highlighted the need for all-around play. “Basketball isn’t just about offense; you need to perform on both ends of the court. European teams are tough, and you can’t win playing at 50-60% effort. You need at least 90% energy,” he concluded.
