Injury Update Alert: Packers QB Jordan Love (groin) among others listed as questionable for Sunday’s clash against the Lions

Another Friday, Another Questionable Tag for Jordan Love and the Packers.

The Green Bay Packers have designated quarterback Jordan Love, running back Josh Jacobs, cornerback Jaire Alexander, and cornerback Corey Ballentine as questionable, while center Josh Myers is marked as doubtful. Additionally, safety Evan Williams has been ruled out in the final injury report leading up to Week 9 against the Detroit Lions.

How will these injuries impact Sunday’s matchup?

Here’s a detailed overview of the Packers’ final injury report for Week 9:

Questionable (4)

  • QB Jordan Love (groin): The Packers quarterback missed practice on Wednesday but returned for limited participation on both Thursday and Friday. He has been listed as questionable twice this season—missing the Week 3 game against the Titans but playing in Week 4 against the Vikings. Love’s availability could come down to a game-time decision. If he doesn’t experience any setbacks, he’ll likely play on Sunday. Should he be unable to go, Malik Willis, the reliable backup, would step in as the starter.
  • RB Josh Jacobs (ankle): The veteran running back is optimistic about playing on Sunday. He missed Wednesday’s practice but was limited on Thursday and Friday. If Jacobs is limited during the game, the Packers will rely more on backups Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks, both of whom have shown they can perform well in recent weeks.
  • CB Jaire Alexander (knee): Although Alexander didn’t practice all week, he still has a chance to suit up on Sunday. While it seems unlikely he will be available, there’s always a possibility. The Packers will need him against a potent offense with a high-efficiency passing game. If Alexander cannot play, expect to see Eric Stokes and Carrington Valentine on the outside, with Keisean Nixon in the slot.
  • CB Corey Ballentine (ankle): Ballentine returned to practice and participated in three limited sessions this week, but his status remains uncertain. The Packers may need him to step up if Alexander is unavailable. With Robert Rochell not available for elevations, only rookies Kamal Hadden and Kalen King are left on the practice squad as cornerback options.
