A Raiders star has made it clear that he wants either Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward as the team’s QB1 for Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro defensive end Maxx Crosby made it known that he’d love to see either Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward as his starting quarterback next season, joking that he wouldn’t bully them after hosting both on his podcast, *The Rush*.
“Cam Ward might go No. 1. It’s between him and Shedeur [Sanders],” Crosby said, according to *Sports Illustrated*. “Those two are definitely the best. They train together. I love what Colorado is doing, and Miami too. After the season, I want to get them on the show and have them explain why they should be the first quarterback taken. We’ll make it happen, and I think it’ll be great.”
Crosby continued, “Maybe one of them will be my quarterback. I can’t fully bully them, but in practice, they’ll know what time it is. If they come to the Raiders, they’ll get hit in practice as quarterbacks. I won’t hurt them, but they’ll definitely feel it.”
Both Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward boosted their draft stock by training together in the offseason.
Sanders benefited by observing an elite dual-threat quarterback like Ward, while Ward got exposure by working with one of the biggest names at the position. Their collaboration has only increased their value heading into the next phase of their careers.
Kyron Drones, the third participant in those training sessions, is still finding his rhythm. While he had a breakout performance in Week 1 against Vanderbilt, he has struggled to stand out in other games, except for the Stanford matchup.
Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward have solidified themselves as stars in the sport, future NFL players, and top draft prospects. It’s uncertain who will be selected first, but if Maxx Crosby’s comments hold any weight, Las Vegas could be in the mix to draft either of them.
