5-star quarterback Julian Lewis plans to visit Deion Sanders and the Colorado football program, even though he has already committed to USC.
Julian Lewis, a 5-star quarterback prospect who verbally committed to USC last year, is planning another visit to Colorado. According to his father, Tyrone Lewis, Julian will visit on Saturday when Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes face Cincinnati, as reported by ESPN’s Eli Lederman.
Lewis, currently a high school senior in Carrollton, Georgia, ranks just behind five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood in ESPN’s Class of 2025 rankings. After reclassifying to the 2025 class in January, Lewis remains committed to USC but is still being recruited by other schools, including Indiana, according to On3’s Hunter Shelton.
Shelton also noted that Indiana “expected” Lewis to visit during their game last Saturday against Nebraska, though he did not attend the Hoosiers’ 56-7 victory.
According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Shelton might visit the Hoosiers during their home game against Michigan on November 9. However, before that, Deion Sanders will have another opportunity to recruit Julian Lewis during his fourth visit to Colorado, as reported by Nikki Edwards of CU Sports Report.
Lewis previously shared several posts from his second unofficial visit to Colorado back in May.
Boulder residents have shown enthusiasm about the possibility of Sanders flipping his commitment to Colorado.
In June, during Sanders’ first official visit to Colorado, local restaurant The Sink introduced a special menu item called the “Juju’s Precision Pass Burger” in honor of the quarterback prospect.
That excitement has likely intensified as Sanders leads his high school in pursuit of their first state title since 1998. Through nine games of his junior season, Sanders has thrown for 2,259 yards and 34 touchdowns with Carrollton.
Lewis’ visit would be a major win for Sanders, who is preparing to lose key players like quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter to the NFL draft next spring. If Lewis commits to Colorado, it would represent Sanders’ first five-star recruit in the Class of 2025, according to 247Sports.
Heading into this weekend with a 5-2 record (2-1 at home and 3-1 in the Big 12), Colorado will be looking to boost both their record and their 2025 recruiting class with a victory in front of Lewis this weekend, despite their playoff chances taking a hit with an Oct. 12 loss to ranked Kansas State.
