Eagles Should Sign Ex-Packers $92 Million Pro Bowler Due To Injury

The Eagles have some internal options to consider for filling the gap, but they may also explore free agency for additional help. One potential target is former Green Bay Packers star David Bakhtiari. Once regarded as one of the top linemen in the NFL, Bakhtiari is a three-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro. However, he’s currently available in free agency after struggling with injuries over the past three seasons, appearing in only 13 games. Previously, Bakhtiari signed a four-year, $92 million contract with the Packers, but now his market value would likely be much lower.
The Eagles are a run-focused team that heavily depends on the strength of their offensive line. Given that, bringing in someone like David Bakhtiari while Mailata is sidelined makes sense. Philadelphia has the financial flexibility to sign Bakhtiari, and having an abundance of skilled offensive linemen is always beneficial.
