Sooners secure commitment from 4-star, 6’11” center for the class of 2025.

Oklahoma has secured a commitment from 6-foot-11, four-star center Kai Rogers for the 2025 class.

Rogers is ranked as a top-100 national prospect, sitting at No. 68 overall and No. 8 among centers, according to 247Sports.

He is the third commitment in Oklahoma’s 2025 class, which is currently ranked 19th in the 247Sports rankings.

Originally from Wisconsin, Rogers attended high school in Milwaukee and now plays for Overtime Elite in Atlanta on the Under Armour Next circuit for players aged 16 to 20. He announced his commitment on Friday from his high school, Wauwatosa West. As a junior, he averaged 15.8 points and 10.1 rebounds, and this season in the UAA Georgia circuit, he’s putting up 16 points and seven rebounds per game.

Rogers chose Oklahoma over his other finalists, SMU and Iowa State, though he also reportedly had offers from Purdue, Wisconsin, and others. He is the second big man to commit to Porter Moser and the Sooners’ 2025 class, following 7-foot Danish center Andreas Holtst, who committed last month. OU also has a commitment from 6-foot-6, four-star small forward Alec Blair from Concord, California.

Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports provided this scouting report on Rogers:

“Kai Rogers was one of the most productive big men in the UAA this year. He’s a true post player with good size, a 7-foot-4 wingspan, and a strong build. While he primarily plays with his back to the basket, he has soft hands and the touch to eventually expand his offensive game.”

The Oklahoma men open the 2024-25 season on Nov. 4 against Lindenwood at 8 p.m. at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.
