Eagles activate practice window for two players following bye week
On Monday afternoon, the Eagles activated the practice windows for Sydney Brown and Ainias Smith.
The Eagles are set to welcome back two players to practice on Wednesday as they return from their bye week.
On Monday, the team opened 21-day practice windows for safety Sydney Brown and wide receiver Ainias Smith. This gives the Eagles 21 days to decide whether to activate them to the 53-man roster or shut them down for the rest of the season.
Brown, 24, has been on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list for the first month of the season as he recovers from an ACL tear suffered in Week 18 of his rookie season on Jan. 7 at MetLife Stadium.
The return of Brown to practice was expected, as defensive coordinator Vic Fangio mentioned before the Week 5 bye that Brown’s practice window would likely open. Fangio believes Brown’s return could be a boost for the defense, calling him “a good football player who brings energy” and a strong tackler. However, where he fits into the defense remains to be determined.
In recent practices, Brown, who is 5-foot-10 and 211 pounds, has been seen training on the sidelines with trainers, showing signs of progress. Although his initial goal was to be ready for the start of his second season, taking extra time to recover has proven to be a smart move.
