PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Steelers kicker Chris Boswell has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of September!
Boswell has played a pivotal role for the Steelers in the early part of the season, contributing significantly to the team’s 3-1 record.
During the Steelers opening game against the Atlanta Falcons, Chris Boswell was the team’s sole scorer, delivering all 18 points with perfect six-for-six on-field goals, including three from beyond 50 yards.
When the Steelers traveled to Denver to take on the Broncos, Boswell remained flawless, hitting both field goal attempts (22 and 53 yards) in a 13-10 victory.
Boswell’s first miss of the season came during Pittsburgh’s 20-10 win over the Chargers at Acrisure Stadium. However, he added two successful field goals from 30 and 38 yards to his season tally.
In last week’s 27-24 loss to the Colts, Boswell contributed a 50-yard field goal to the Steelers’ effort. This season, Boswell has successfully made 11 of 12 field goal attempts and remains perfect on all six extra-point attempts.
