Texas Longhorns Hire Graham Harrell as Offensive Coach with Four-Year, $2.5 Million Deal After Purdue Exit
The Texas Longhorns have announced the hiring of Graham Harrell as their new offensive coach, signing him to a four-year contract worth $2.5 million. Harrell, who previously served as Purdue’s offensive coordinator, has made the move to Texas following his departure from the Boilermakers.
Harrell brings significant experience to the Longhorns, having also worked as an offensive coordinator for USC and North Texas, where he developed a reputation for his high-powered, air-raid style offense. A former standout quarterback at Texas Tech under Mike Leach, Harrell’s deep understanding of offensive schemes and quarterback development is expected to play a key role in bolstering the Longhorns’ offense.
Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian expressed excitement about the addition, stating, “Graham’s experience and innovative offensive strategies will be a valuable asset as we continue building a championship-caliber team.”
Harrell’s hiring comes as Texas looks to strengthen its offensive unit ahead of its move to the SEC. His exit from Purdue marks a significant change for the Boilermakers, who will now look to replace him as they prepare for their 2024 season.
