UNC Basketball One-and-Done Player Lands Another NBA Contract
UNC basketball product Nassir Little will head to Miami to continue his pro career.
When the Phoenix Suns waived Nassir Little in late August, he quickly became one of the most sought-after free agents. Therefore, it was no shock when NBA insider Chris Haynes announced on Monday night that the former UNC basketball forward and 2018-19 first-round pick had signed a one-year deal with the Miami Heat for his sixth NBA season.
Now 24 and entering his prime years, Nassir Little spent his first four NBA seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, the team that drafted him, before joining the Phoenix Suns last season. Over the course of 237 regular-season games with both the Blazers and Suns, the Florida native has averaged 5.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, and shot 45.2 percent from the field, 33.0 percent from three-point range, and 73.5 percent from the free-throw line.
