David Pastrnak Gives a Humorous Explanation for the Absence of New Bruins Player

Elias Lindholm missed the second day of Bruins training camp, but it doesn’t appear to be a significant issue. Head coach Jim Montgomery shared on Friday that Lindholm’s absence was due to a maintenance day, emphasizing the team was being “extra cautious” with the star free-agent acquisition. However, David Pastrnak had a more lighthearted take.

“It was good,” Pastrnak said about his first practice with Lindholm, according to the Bruins. “Maybe he wasn’t used to the Czech pace, so he needed a day off (Friday). It was fun. We had some great moments. I don’t think we’ll have any trouble building chemistry. Lindy’s very smart and has a high hockey IQ. It was just one practice, but as I said, chemistry shouldn’t be an issue.”

Lindholm is expected to add a “killer instinct” to Boston’s power play. Despite a down season last year, playing alongside a top scorer like Pastrnak could help him return to his 2021-22 form.

The Bruins kick off their preseason on Sunday against the New York Rangers. Full coverage will be available on NESN starting at 5 p.m. ET, or right after the conclusion of the Boston Red Sox game.
