Trevor Lawrence will sit out the Jaguars’ second preseason game.
Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will be limited to joint practices with the Buccaneers this week. Head coach Doug Pederson announced on Thursday that Lawrence will sit out Sunday’s game between the two Florida teams. The Jaguars and Buccaneers are wrapping up their second day of joint practices on Thursday.
Lawrence played last weekend against the Chiefs, completing 3-of-4 passes for 42 yards and a touchdown before being taken out.
With Lawrence sitting out, the Jaguars plan to divide the quarterback duties between Mac Jones and C.J. Beathard. Beathard, who took over for Lawrence in the game against Kansas City, has not been confirmed by Pederson as the starter for this weekend.
