NFL News: Brandon Aiyuk has one last stipulation before signing a new contract with the 49ers.

Brandon Aiyuk has made a last request to the San Francisco 49ers in hopes of preventing a trade to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Brandon Aiyuk has put the San Francisco 49ers in a tough spot with only two paths forward: either a record-breaking contract extension or a trade to the Pittsburgh Steelers, his clear preferred choice.

It’s worth noting that general manager John Lynch had two potential trade deals lined up, but Aiyuk turned down offers from the Cleveland Browns and the New England Patriots.

With just two weeks left before the NFL season kicks off, the 49ers are running low on both time and patience as they try to retain one of their key players for another Super Bowl push.

Will Brandon Aiyuk be traded?

According to a report by Mike Garafolo, Brandon Aiyuk’s final condition for staying with the San Francisco 49ers involves adjusting the financial terms of the last year of his new contract. However, John Lynch and the team’s front office are growing frustrated with the wide receiver’s demands, which are preventing a deal from being finalized.

“We’re still at a standoff between Aiyuk and the 49ers. They’ve agreed on the major aspects of the deal, usually the toughest parts, but Aiyuk is insisting on changes to the final year before signing. So far, that hasn’t happened.”

With just two weeks left before the NFL season begins, the 49ers are running out of time—and patience—to secure one of their key players for another Super Bowl push.

Will the Pittsburgh Steelers sign Brandon Aiyuk?

If the San Francisco 49ers don’t grant Brandon Aiyuk’s final request, Garafolo highlighted that the Pittsburgh Steelers are prepared to make a move as soon as John Lynch gives the go-ahead.

“The Pittsburgh Steelers are poised and ready to make a move for Aiyuk, having nearly finalized a trade deal. The contract could be completed within minutes. It’s a tense three-way standoff.”
