Dabo Swinney provides an injury update on cornerback Shelton Lewis.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football program are currently managing injuries, as is common during preseason preparations, with the Tigers’ head coach providing an update on a key player in the secondary.

Sophomore cornerback Shelton Lewis recently sustained a lower-leg injury during a Clemson scrimmage. Speaking to the media on Thursday, Swinney gave an update on Lewis’s condition with his usual straightforward approach.

“Yeah, he’s day-to-day right now,” Swinney said. “It’s lower body.”

Lewis is expected to be a significant impact player for the Tigers in 2024. In his freshman season, he made seven tackles, broke up seven passes, and intercepted two, appearing in all 13 games for Clemson.

As Week 1 against Georgia draws closer, Lewis’s status will be closely monitored.
