Ipswich secure Morsy before reuniting with Salah
Egyptian international Sam Morsy has extended his contract with Ipswich Town ahead of their Premier League match against Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool FC.
The club captain, who has been pivotal in the team’s consecutive promotions from League One to the Premier League, will remain with the Suffolk-based club until June 2026.
Since joining from Middlesbrough FC in August 2021, Morsy has made 131 appearances and scored 10 goals for Ipswich, consistently setting high standards on and off the field.
“I’m extremely proud to extend my stay at this special club,” said the 32-year-old defensive midfielder. “Entering my fourth season here, we’ve achieved unprecedented success over the past two years, and I’m honored to have been a part of it.”
“It’s encouraging to feel the Club and the Manager’s commitment to me during this exciting period as we face our greatest challenge yet,” he added. “My family loves living here, and the supporters have been wonderful to me, so I’m looking forward to continuing this journey together.”
Ipswich will host Liverpool at Portman Road on August 17, with kick-off scheduled for 13:30 CAT.
