John Force Update: Team Statement Brings Positive News After Month-Long Hospitalization

Drag racing legend John Force was released from the Barrow Neurological Institute nearly a month after a terrifying crash during a Funny Cars competition at the Virginia Nationals. At 74, the 16-time Funny Car champion endured a high-speed accident caused by an engine explosion, sending his car spinning at over 300 miles per hour and crashing dramatically into concrete barriers.

The team has released a statement confirming:

“A month after an engine explosion caused his race car to crash into a concrete guardwall at over 300 miles per hour at Virginia Motorsports Park, drag racing champion John Force was discharged Tuesday from Barrow Neurological Institute, where he was receiving rehab for a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

“According to family members, the 16-time Funny Car Champion will continue his therapy with specialists for such injuries on an outpatient basis in California.
