FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — In a heartfelt message shared on X (formerly Twitter) this morning, Arkansas head coach John Calipari announced the passing of his longtime friend and former colleague, Bob Marcum. The news has deeply affected the college basketball community, particularly those who had the privilege of working alongside Marcum during his storied career.

“Sad news. Bob Marcum passed away this morning,” Calipari wrote. “We spent a wonderful couple of hours together in the hospital, reminiscing about our time at UMass, with him as AD and me as coach. We laughed, cried, and prayed.”
