INDIANAPOLIS COLTS QB ANTHONY RICHARDSON DONATES HIGH-TECH HELMETS FOR LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL TEAM SAFETY

It’s not just touchdowns and game-winning drives for Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson; it’s also about giving back to the upcoming generation of football players. Richardson, stepping outside the NFL limelight, has generously donated a set of brand-new VICIS helmets to a local high school football team, demonstrating that player safety is just as vital off the pro field as it is on.

Yesterday, members of the Speedway High School football team were introduced to a whole new level of surprise. Anthony Richardson, fresh off his rookie year with the Colts, unveiled brand-new VICIS ZERO2 helmets for the team, FOX59 reported. The same model donned by Richardson himself on Sundays is now the helmet of choice for the young athletes at Speedway, all thanks to Richardson’s partnerships with the innovative headgear company VICIS and Certor Sports.

During this heartfelt contribution, Richardson stressed the importance of safety in a sport that’s no stranger to head injuries. In a candid talk with the high school players, he reflected on his experience with concussions, noting, “It’s safe, you know. I know some people may not say it was safe when I got my concussion, but it was 100% my fault, slowing down by the end zone. It’s safe.” This was highlighted by NFL.com, where Richardson shared his past missteps and expressed a hope that the Speedway students could learn from them.

The event wasn’t just another PR stint; it was personal for Richardson, who brought along his mother and younger brother to the school, as mentioned by CBS4Indy. With an eye on his own return to the gridiron for training camp the following week, Richardson’s actions off the field are shaping the values he represents on the field: resilience, safety, and a genuine connection to his roots.

Present to witness the combination of sports technology and good old-fashioned generosity were Certor Sports CEO Jeremy Erspamer, Speedway Athletic Director Dan Maple, and Speedway Head Football Coach Shane Clampitt.
