Enes Kanter Freedom Slams LeBron James: ‘He’s Literally Like the Dictator of the NBA”

The Turkish-born Enes Kanter was the third pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and played for Utah, Oklahoma, New York, Portland, and Boston. Kanter became an American citizen in 2021.

At 32 years old, Kanter, who faces persecution in Turkey due to his outspoken criticism of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, believes LeBron James wields significant influence in the league, likening it to a dictator.

Kanter also expressed dissatisfaction with the Lakers’ decision to draft Brony James, the son of LeBron, with the 55th pick in the NBA Draft. “He might be a good guy, but he’s not NBA material,” Kanter told OutKick’s ‘Don’t @ Me.’

Kanter asserted, “The reason Brony was chosen is LeBron; the reason JJ Redick is the Lakers’ coach is LeBron.” He added, “No other players want to play with LeBron. Despite numerous free agents available… nobody wanted to play with him because they know it’s all about LeBron,” argued the former Boston Celtics center.

“They gain no leverage. When the Lakers fail, LeBron seeks a scapegoat; he blamed the entire season on Russell Westbrook, proving he isn’t a good teammate.”

“He clearly manipulates the media and controls the narrative. Inside the NBA, players don’t want to associate with him,” Kanter emphasized. “LeBron behaves like a dictator in the NBA. He controls the media and the narrative. Anyone who opposes his agenda gets traded; everyone knows this.”
