Arkansas native sees a rise this summer, Razorbacks extend an offer
A deadly scorer finally receives an offer from Calipari after an impressive summer performance.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Oak Hill Academy has a longstanding reputation for grooming young men for successful college careers since the 1980s. The program boasts over 30 alumni selected in the NBA Draft, among them Carmelo Anthony, arguably its most prominent star.
Courtland Muldrew, originally from Springdale, recently transferred to Oak Hill with his recruitment prospects peaking this summer. Impressed by his surge in performance, Arkansas coach John Calipari extended a scholarship offer to the highly skilled scorer.
During his junior year at Springdale, the 6-foot-3 guard averaged nearly 25 points per game in the 6A conference, which is the top level of high school athletics in Arkansas.
Muldrew is rated as a 4-star prospect by three publications, with his highest ranking at No. 100 overall according to 247sports. He is ranked as the No. 20 shooting guard in his recruiting cycle and has risen to become the No. 2 prospect in Virginia following his transfer. His scoring prowess was evident from the Nike EYBL’s fourth event in Kansas City, where he averaged over 23 points per game.
Oklahoma, Colorado, Washington, West Virginia, Creighton, Arizona State, and Mississippi State have joined Arkansas in extending offers to Muldrew. This summer, he has visited the campuses of Oklahoma and Mississippi State, and he intends to take an official visit to Fayetteville.
Speaking with allHOGS, Muldrew mentioned that besides his official visit to Arkansas, he plans to visit LSU, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. Earlier this month, he took an official visit to Oklahoma, and the Sooners are optimistic about securing his commitment.
