FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas men’s basketball announced on Thursday that they have signed Kareem Watkins, a former walk-on from Kentucky.

Watkins is the fourth former Wildcat to follow coach John Calipari from Kentucky to Arkansas, joining Zvonimir Ivisic, Adou Thiero, and DJ Wagner.

Additionally, three freshmen — Karter Knox, Johnuel “Boogie” Fland, and Billy Richmond — switched their commitments from Kentucky to Arkansas after Calipari’s move.

Watkins, a 5-8 point guard entering his fifth year, played in 20 games for Kentucky, starting on senior night against Vanderbilt. He recorded 4 field goal attempts, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals in total.

He is also the stepbrother of Wagner.

The Razorbacks further announced the signings of Hawaii Pacific transfer Melo Sanchez and freshmen Ayden Kelly and Jayden Karuletwa, as previously reported.
