Caitlin Clark Reveals Surprising Impact of Aliyah Boston on Her Decision to Leave Iowa
Although things didn’t go their way on Wednesday, Fever stars Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston are creating something exceptional in Indiana.
The consecutive No. 1 picks in the 2024 WNBA Draft are both premier young talents in women’s basketball, and the Fever’s future looks promising if they build around these two.
In an interview on “The Wake Up Call With KB and Andy” Wednesday morning, Clark explained how much Boston influenced her decision to declare for the WNBA Draft, even though she had one more year of eligibility at Iowa.
“For sure, yeah,” Clark said when asked whether Indiana having the No. 1 pick impacted her decision to leave Iowa. “Being able to come to a place that values women’s basketball… and is close to where I’m from… just makes it easier for me.
“And obviously, I really wanted to play with Aliyah,” Clark added. “That doesn’t hurt either. And there’s just great talent on this team. But at the same time… it was time for me to end my college career. There was really nothing left for me to do at the University of Iowa.”
