OKC Thunder Meeting In-Person with Free Agent Center Isaiah Hartenstein

The Oklahoma City Thunder have traveled to Eugene, Oregon, aiming to secure Isaiah Hartenstein, with hopes of luring him away from the New York Knicks.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Oklahoma City Thunder are making a push to recruit Isaiah Hartenstein from the New York Knicks during free agency. They have traveled to Eugene, Oregon for a face-to-face meeting with the center, as reported.

This potential signing would mark the largest free agent acquisition in Oklahoma City Thunder history, surpassing the additions of Patrick Patterson, Nerlens Noel, and Raymond Felton.

In one of their most recent reported in-home visits, the Thunder secured a deal with veteran big man Mike Muscala in Minnesota. Muscala quickly became a fan favorite during the team’s rebuilding phase and played a crucial role as a leader in the locker room.

Hartenstein would significantly enhance the Oklahoma City Thunder’s on-court performance and bolster the team’s frontcourt depth, potentially making them contenders in the Western Conference.

Last season, Hartenstein averaged 7.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 combined steals and blocks per game. He shot an impressive 64% from the field overall, 54% from mid-range, and 70% near the rim. Additionally, he shot 61% on runners during the previous season.
