The revamped Kansas State basketball team now has their 2024 Big 12 opponents officially set.

The Wildcats are now aware of their opponents and venues for the 2024-2025 Big 12 basketball season.

Kansas State basketball had a disappointing season in 2023-2024. Although the Wildcats managed to make it to the NIT, the season ended poorly, and it seemed like everyone abandoned ship.

After a hectic offseason with only one returning starter, Jerome Tang now knows who his Wildcats will face in the 2024-2025 season.

The Wildcats lost many key players during the offseason, but Tang worked diligently to mitigate the losses by bringing in new players through the transfer portal. For the third consecutive year, Tang will have an almost entirely new starting lineup.

Since taking over as coach in 2021, Tang led the revamped Wildcats to the NCAA Tournament and the Elite Eight. However, the 2023-2024 season saw the Wildcats miss the NCAA Tournament after being on the bubble for most of the season.

Heading into the 2024-2025 season, Tang aims to improve in several areas, with ball security being a major focus. The Wildcats led the Big 12 in turnovers last season, and better ball handling is crucial for winning games.

With a new team, the Wildcats are set to face every team in the Big 12, but unlike previous years, they will not play each team twice.

Kansas State will have home-and-away series against five teams, home-only series against five teams, and away-only series against five teams.

Here is the list of the Wildcats’ 2024-2025 Big 12 opponents.

Home-and-away series

  • Arizona State
  • Cincinnati
  • Iowa State
  • Oklahoma State
  • Kansas (Sunflower Showdown)

Home-only series

  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Houston
  • Texas Tech
  • West Virginia

Away-only series

  • Baylor
  • BYU
  • UCF
  • TCU
  • Utah

With the addition of the four Pac-12 teams—Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah—the Big 12 is only going to become more challenging. Kansas State will need to make significant improvements from last season to secure their second NCAA Tournament appearance under Tang.
