A Big congratulations to the New Razorbacks coach John Calipari, as he purchases a mansion worth $2.2 million.

New Razorbacks coach John Calipari purchases a mansion for $2.2 million.

New Arkansas Razorbacks basketball coach, John Calipari, has settled into his new home, as reported by the Fayetteville Flyer:

Calipari recently bought a house for $2.2 million in the Clear Creek neighborhood, according to property records. This gated community, situated at Blessings Golf Club, is approximately 5.5 miles north of the University of Arkansas campus.

The 7,350-square-foot residence, featuring five bedrooms, offers views of the 10th and 11th fairways. Originally built in 2006, the house was later remodeled by Goddard Design Group.

Calipari’s new lifestyle comes with the caveat of staying in favor with the boosters. He signed a five-year contract with the Razorbacks in April, worth $7.5 million per year plus bonuses. Before joining the Razorbacks, Calipari accumulated over 400 wins, four Final Four appearances, and a national title during his 15-year tenure as the head coach of the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

The Flyer has some noteworthy real estate gossip that goes beyond our usual scope:

Calipari is the second Arkansas coach among the three major men’s teams to deviate from the trend of buying a home in the upscale Bridgewater Estates neighborhood. Current coaches Dave Van Horn and Sam Pittman live there, as did former coaches Chad Morris, Bret Bielema, Bobby Petrino, Mike Anderson, and John Pelphrey.

Former basketball coach Eric Musselman was the first in years to break this pattern when he bought a home in Clear Creek. Musselman became the University of Southern California’s new head coach in April. His former home, now on the market for $3.25 million, is near Calipari’s new house.

Calipari purchased his new home from the T&B White Family Trust, while his old house in Lexington went up for sale in May for $3.99 million.
