Celtic defender Alistair Johnston has scored responded brilliantly to a xenophobic Twitter user that criticised the diversity in the Canada National Team. Jesse Marsch’s side are currently playing at the Copa America and faced up against Argentina in the last few days.

Johnston, who joined Celtic in January 2023 after impressing at the Qatar World Cup, responded with a brilliant clapback against the user, who was seeking to create division.

The post from the account appeared to be looking to create division in the country. However, the excellent retort from Johnston showed that the defender would not be bowed by attacks against his country’s incredible diversity.

Canada face Peru and Chile in their last two group games and will be hoping for a result. Celtic fans will wish Johnston and his teammates every success at the tournament but hope that the robust defender returns to Celtic in full health ahead of the pre season.
