OFFICIAL: A Good News for Tar Heels. UNC Basketball has set in for a dual-sport standout competition.

UNC Basketball has officially joined the competition for a dual-sport standout.

Reidsville High School (N.C.) rising junior and long-standing UNC football offer recipient Kendre’ Harrison ranks as the top tight end in the 2026 class. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 245 pounds, Harrison is known for his athleticism, frequently shattering backboards, and has been on UNC basketball’s recruiting radar for months. If more major recruiting platforms recognized his potential as a collegiate basketball player, he would likely be considered among the top power forwards.

Harrison, who has been a frequent visitor to Chapel Hill for both football and basketball events over the past year, has expressed a desire to pursue both sports at the next level. Fortunately for Harrison and the Tar Heels, it appears that UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis is taking his aspirations seriously.

During the recent open-contact period for the 2026 recruiting cycle, Davis and his staff reached out directly to Harrison. Additionally, Davis made a notable appearance at UNC’s Carolina King Of The Hill prep camp on Thursday to check in on Harrison, as reported by HighSchoolOT’s Evan Moesta. Following this visit, Davis promptly extended an offer to Harrison, according to 247Sports’ Sherrell McMillan.

Ranked No. 26 overall, No. 2 in North Carolina, and No. 5 among power forwards in the 2026 ESPN 60 rankings, Harrison becomes the third prospect in the class to receive an offer from UNC basketball, joining Prolific Prep (Calif.) five-star forward Tyran Stokes and Caldwell Academy (N.C.) four-star forward Cole Cloer.
