Arkansas football misses out on another highly rated in-state prospect, Carius Curne

Arkansas football missed out on another top in-state target. Carius Curne, from Marion, Arkansas, committed to LSU today following an official visit to Baton Rouge over the weekend.

Previously committed to Arkansas, Curne decommitted in March. The 6-foot-4 offensive tackle is rated a four-star prospect with a .94 rating by 247 Sports and is the No. 1 prospect in Arkansas. He chose LSU over Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, and Mizzou, among others.

This is another example of Arkansas missing out on elite in-state players in recent seasons. In the 2024 cycle, the Razorbacks missed on three of the top-five Arkansas recruits: Brian Huff, Walker White, and Courtney Crutchfield, all composite four-stars.

This season, the Hogs are on track to repeat that trend. The No. 3 recruit in Arkansas, Marcus Wimberly, already flipped his commitment to OU, and now Curne has committed to LSU. Omarion Robinson from Parkview has yet to decide, but if he also opts to leave the state, Arkansas will have missed out on all three in-state four-star prospects.
