The Municipality of Bergamo has decided to confer the city’s gold medal upon Atalanta. According to Tutto Atalanta, Mayor Giorgio Gori and the city council made this decision, scheduling the official ceremony for Friday, 31 May, at Palazzo Frizzoni.

Typically awarded at year-end, the decision to honor Atalanta earlier reflects the exceptional nature of their triumph and coincides with the team’s celebration of their continental success.

Mayor Gori, who witnessed the historic victory in Dublin, expressed the sentiment behind the decision, stating, “Awarding the highest civic honor to Atalanta is a heartfelt decision, driven by our gratitude to a team that has filled us with pride.”

The gold medal symbolizes the deep connection between Bergamo and its football club, recognizing the excellence and determination that brought international acclaim to the city.

The events on Friday will unite players, managers, fans, and citizens in celebrating both the sporting achievement and the pride it has brought to Bergamo.

This Europa League title marks the first club honor for Lookman, who has previously played for Charlton Athletic, Everton, Fulham, Leicester City, and RB Leipzig.
