Three players depart from the OU softball team via the transfer portal.
On Monday, Avery Hodge, a sophomore infielder at Oklahoma, along with Quincee Lilio, a redshirt sophomore utility player, and SJ Geurin, a redshirt freshman pitcher, all entered the transfer portal.
Hodge stepped into the role of the Sooners’ primary second baseman during the WCWS following Alynah Torres’ departure from the game against Duke on May 30 due to injury.
During the 2024 season, Hodge maintained a batting average of .284, registering zero home runs and nine runs batted in across 25 games started. In the final four games of the season, Hodge secured four hits out of ten at-bats.
Lilio posted a batting average of .129 with one home run and five runs batted in, starting in only two games. Geurin’s pitching activity in 2024 was limited to 10 innings, during which she allowed four hits, one run, three walks, and tallied nine strikeouts. Across nine relief appearances, Geurin maintained an impressive 0.70 earned run average.
With 10 seniors departing, three players in the transfer portal and eight freshman signed in the 2024 class, the Sooners now have five roster spots open.
