OU Softball Loses Three Players to Transfer Portal; Patty Gasso Assures of Rebuilding
The Sooners are coming off their fourth consecutive national title, and head coach Patty Gasso made a promise to fans at the championship celebration on June 8.
Three Sooners — Avery Hodge, Quincee Lilio, and SJ Geurin — reportedly entered the transfer portal on Monday. This leaves OU with eight returners heading into 2025. Paired with the eight freshmen who signed in the 2024 class, this leaves five open roster spots for Patty Gasso to fill through the transfer portal.
Also, 10 seniors departed, but the Sooners won’t be totally devoid of experience as they head into the SEC.
While speaking after the championship Patty Gasso assured, “Just be patient, we’re losing 10 seniors,” Gasso said. “We’re going to rebuild this into something wonderful.”
Players Leaving OU Softball in Transfer Portal
Avery Hodge, Infielder
Sophomore infielder Avery Hodge has reportedly entered the transfer portal, according to a June 10 report by D1Softball’s Justin McLeod.
Hodge, who shared playing time at second base with Alynah Torres, hit .284 in 74 at-bats for the Sooners in 2024. When Torres was injured against UCLA in the Women’s College World Series, Hodge held her own, hitting a combined 4 for 12 against Florida and Texas.
Hodge’s double in an elimination game against the Gators kept OU alive, and she represented the game-tying run when she scored.
With Torres out of eligibility, Hodge was expected to play a significant role for the Sooners next season. The Richmond, Texas, native will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Quincee Lilio, Utility
Redshirt sophomore utility player Quincee Lilio has reportedly entered the transfer portal, per a June 10 report by D1Softball’s Justin McLeod.
Lilio didn’t play much in 2024 and finished with a .129 batting average in 31 at-bats.
Lilio was ranked a top-five overall prospect in the 2022 class by Extra Inning Softball.
SJ Geurin, Pitcher
Redshirt freshman left-hander SJ Geurin has reportedly entered the transfer portal, according to a June 10 report by D1Softball’s Justin McLeod.
Geurin pitched 10 innings for OU in 2024 and held a 0.70 earned run average. The last time Geurin pitched was April 12 in a loss to BYU.
Geurin redshirted for the Sooners in 2023.

Hannah Coor: The redshirt junior will return to the outfield.
Paytn Monticelli: The right-handed flamethrower is set to return after pitching 19 1/3 innings last year.

Maya Bland: Primarily used as a pinch-runner, Bland will be back in Norman next year.
Nelly McEnroe-Marinas: She redshirted last year after sustaining an injury and will return in 2025.

Audrey Lowry: A left-handed pitcher, will join the pitching staff in the talented 2024 freshman class under the guidance of associate head coach and pitching coach Jennifer Rocha.
Tia Milloy, Kadey McKay, Gabbie Garcia, and Sydney Barker: These infield signees could all compete for time.
Riley Zache and Corri Hicks: Two catchers joining the Sooners.
Chaney Helton: An in-state star who could slot into OU’s outfield.
The transfer portal window officially closes on June 17. Players need to enter the portal by next Monday but can commit to new programs in the following weeks.
