Nick Saban is joined at the Nick’s Kids golf event by two legends of Alabama.

Former athletes of Nick Saban’s have the kind of bond where they enjoy spending time with him.

In addition to almost 100 players in the National Football League, he coached four Heisman Memorial Trophy winners, 47 first-round selections in the NFL Draft, and multiple All-Americans. On Tuesday, Saban was joined by two Crimson Tide luminaries for his Nick’s Kids golf tournament. Their former coach Mark Ingram, the first Heisman winner from Alabama, and Tua Tagovailoa went with him on the golf course.

Between 2008 and 2010, Ingram was a running back at the University of Alabama. In 2009, he was a part of the Alabama team that won the Southeastern Conference and the BCS National Championship for the first time under head coach Nick Saban. In 2009, Ingram amassed 1,658 rush yards, 334 reception yards, and 20 touchdowns overall. In 2009, he was named first-team All-SEC, unanimous All-American, and SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Year. The New Orleans Saints selected Ingram with the 28th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

In the National Football League, he spent 12 seasons playing for the Saints, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, and Saints once more.

From 2017 to 2019, Tagovailoa played quarterback for Alabama.

In the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, the native Hawaiian came off the bench as a true freshman and helped the team defeat Georgia to win the national championship. He developed into one of the most accurate passers in college football history, demonstrating the ability to create plays with his arm. After posting a season with 3,966 passing yards and 48 total touchdowns, Tagovailoa was named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2018. He led the squad to a CFP National Championship Game appearance and an SEC Championship.

The Miami Dolphins selected Tagovailoa with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Last year, he finished first in the league in passing yards (4,624) and touchdowns scored (29).
